Clockwork Angel - Cassandra Clare (The Infernal Devices #1)

Just read this and completely fell in love.
'"One must always be careful of books," said Tessa, "and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us."' - Cassandra Clare, The Infernal Devices, Clockwork Angel

Published Date: August, 31, 2010
Genre: Fantasy/Young Adult
Synopsis: In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them...

I absolutely loved this book. This book is the vain of my ex-- Okay, maybe not that far. But Will, Tessa, and Jem are my favorite in this book, granted that they are the main characters in this book. Just seeing the love triangle develop is the cutest things of all time.

Tessa just wanted a normal life and to get reunited with her brother. She would do anything for him and if that means traveling across the seas to get to him, she would. He mysteriously sends her a ticket to come to London, England and away from New York after their aunt's passing.

She endures months of torture from The Black Sisters and it will make your heart ache as the story goes on.

When Will and Jem come to save her from their grasps, you will just automatically want to put them on your book boyfriends list. But as you read on and if you have read the The Mortal Instrument series before the prequel of The Infernal Devices, you will automatically connect Will to Jace and Jem to Simon as well as Tessa to Clary. Somewhat.

I am going to go ahead and rate this book a 4.7 out of 5 stars. Although there are some minor characters within, you will love them nonetheless.

I would highly recommend this book and if you don't read it, you're certifiably insane.

'"Sometimes," Jem said, "out lives can change so fast that the change outpaces our minds and hearts. It's those times. I think, when our lives have alerted but we still long for the time before everything was altered-- that is when we feel the greatest pain. I can tell you, though, from experience, you grow accustomed to it. You learn to live your new life, and you can't imagine, or even really remember, how things were before."' - Cassandra Clare, The Infernal Devices, Clockwork Angel

Blog you later, awesome book nerds.
